Little Rock, Ark. – Looking to salvage at least a split in their American Midwest Conference series with #23 Missouri Baptist, Central Baptist College baseball hosted the Spartans today at the Pulaski Academy Baseball Complex. CBC (21-20, 17-11 AMC) couldn't muster the offense, dropping the doubleheader 5-2 and 11-4 to MBU (28-9, 23-5 AMC).
GAME THREE – #23 MBU 5, CBC 2
The Spartans would score first, leading 1-0 after a half inning. Garrett Fitts would give CBC a 2-1 lead in the first with a two-run single to center field with the bases loaded. MBU would retake the lead with three runs in the third and tacked on another run in the sixth. Ryan Dauphinee went 3-4 with a run scored in the contest and Josh Lumsden joined Fitts and Dauphinee in the hit column.
GAME FOUR - #23 MBU 11, CBC 4
Missouri Baptist tallied single runs in the first two innings to lead 2-0 in the second. Brennan Duhe cut the lead in half when he stole third and the MBU catcher threw the ball into left field. The Spartans would tack on two in the third, four in the fourth and three in the fifth to lead 11-1 heading to the bottom of the seventh. CBC would score three times in the bottom half, first on a wild pitch and a throwing error, second on an error by the third baseman and the third run on another error by the shortstop.
