Erik Holth, CBC Sports Information Director
O'Fallon, Mo. – Following a win in game one of the American Midwest Conference Tournament, Central Baptist College baseball took on the #1 seed Missouri Baptist Spartans today at CarShield Field. CBC (28-23) fell behind early and couldn't recover, falling 4-1 to MBU (38-9).
Josh Albat was brilliant on the mound, throwing a complete game and allowing four runs on eight hits with 5 Ks. Garrett Fitts had the lone RBI on a bases loaded walk in the sixth with CBC trailing 2-0 at the time. Aaron Prince had a multi-hit game while Fitts, Ryan Dauphinee, Chett McDaniel, Iziah Tafoya, and Julian Rodriguez all had one hit apiece.
The opponent and time for tomorrow's elimination game is to be determined by the game that was suspended earlier tonight. If Mission beats Columbia, CBC would play at 3 p.m. tomorrow against the winner of the William Woods-Columbia matchup at noon. If Columbia meets Mission, the Mustangs would play the Owls tomorrow at noon.
