The use of live streaming was also expanded in 2018-19 as more events were shown than in previous years.
The 2017-18 academic year was a banner year for sports information as social media numbers and coverage of CBC athletics reached new highs. In his first year, Holth led the department to a 20-plus percent (242) increase in Twitter followers (a number that is now over 1,400), a 40-plus percent increase (41.34) in Facebook likes (1,161 to 1,641) and created an Instagram Page (all are @gocbcmustangs) that gained almost 480 followers in the first year, the second-highest percentage increase in the NAIA.
Holth came to CBC after spending the 2015-16 academic year as the Assistant Sports Information Director at Hendrix College also in Conway. While at Hendrix, his primary responsibilities were social media content, video and live streaming and video production and editing. He took Hendrix from a 120th ranked social media program in NCAA Division III to 76th by the end of his tenure.
Prior to his arrival at Hendrix, Holth spent 2014-15 at Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro, Ky. While at KWC, he served as the primary contact for men’s and women’s soccer, volleyball and women’s basketball, while also serving as the road radio voice for the Panther women’s basketball team. His start in the sports information industry began at East Texas Baptist University, an NCAA Division III school in Marshall, Texas. While at ETBU, he began to learn everything that it takes to be a sports information director and assisted in all aspects of the school’s 14 sports at the time.
