Swaim Opens the Season For CBC Track At Mel Tjeerdsma Classic

Maryville, Mo. – Competing for the first time indoors this season, Ally Swaim was on the track today for Central Baptist College track & field at the Mel Tjeerdsma Classic. Swaim reached the final in both the 60-meter hurdles and the 200-meter dash, with all the other finalists coming from Division II schools.
Swaim qualified for the final by posting a 9.15 in the prelims for the 60 hurdles, after winning heat one of three with a time of 9.00. In the final, Swaim placed seventh, posting a time of 9.46. Her time of 28.00 seconds in the 200 placed her in 22nd place.
Track is off until after the new year, when they will head to Wichita, Kan., for the Friends University First Chance Qualifier on Jan. 7.
