Tuscaloosa, Ala. – Trying to salvage a game from the four games in Alabama this weekend, Central Baptist College softball took on the United States Sports Academy and Stillman at the Stillman Softball Complex. CBC (4-12) took the game with USSA (2-7) 2-1 before dropping the Stillman (9-5) contest 13-5.
GAME THREE – CBC 2, USSA 1
All the runs were scored in the fifth inning as USSA put CBC down with a run in the top half before Kinley Johnson singled home two in the bottom half to provide all the scoring. Alex Jeter was brilliant in earning victory number two, throwing a complete game six-hitter with an earned run, a pair of walks and a pair of strikeouts.
GAME FOUR – STILLMAN 13, CBC 5 (SIX INNINGS)
The Tigers got on the board via an error in the first inning before CBC would take a 3-1 lead in the third thanks to singles by Elizabeth Stoufer, Abi West and Anna Marie Sternisha. Stillman would make the deficit 7-3 with two in the third and two in the fourth. The Mustangs would keep it close by scoring on a ground out in the fifth and a bases loaded hit by pitch in the sixth, making the score 7-5 Stillman. The Tigers would then end the game with a six-run sixth inning.
