Conway, Ark. – The American Midwest Conference held their softball awards ceremony at Burgess Auditorium on the campus of Central Baptist College tonight. CBC had five players earn all-conference recognition with two all-conference members also earning gold gloves with a third player earning a gold glove as well.

Alex Jeter, Kinley Johnson and Abi West were the first team selections. Jeter, who earned a second team nod last year, led the squad in wins, complete games, innings, tied for the strikeout lead and also led in ERA. Johnson, who earned a second team selection last season, paced the squad in home runs, runs batted in, on base percentage and slugging percentage. West was also a second team selection last year and led the team in batting average this season and ranked second in both home runs and RBIs.

Taviah Bradley earned second team honors. She bounced back big this year after missing most of last year due to injury. She batted .314 with 23 runs scored, 13 doubles and 20 RBIs this season.

Kori Truelove earned third team honors. Truelove was the Freshman of the Year two seasons ago and also earned third team honors last year. This year she had 28 runs scored, 15 doubles, 23 RBIs and a .314 batting average.

West, Bradley and Elizabeth Stoufer all earned Gold Gloves from the AMC. West becomes the first two-time gold glove winner in program history as she was a utility infield winner last season. This season at second base, she posted a .967 fielding percentage and helped turn seven double plays. Bradley also had a .967 fielding percentage at third base this season, committing only five miscues and turning four double plays. Stoufer was a co-gold-glover in center field. She was tied for the best fielding percentage at .980 and made runners fear her, pegging two with assists from her outfield position.

These six will lead the Mustangs into the first round of the American Midwest Conference tournament tomorrow. CBC will play Williams Baptist with first pitch scheduled for 2 p.m.
