St. Louis, Mo. – The American Midwest Conference announced their weekly awards earlier today and four Central Baptist College athletes were selected. A.J. Serrano was named AMC baseball player of the week while Josh Brown was named AMC Men's Track Athlete of the Week, Ally Swaim earned AMC women's track athlete of the week and Ashleigh Gross-Mitchell earned AMC women's field athlete of the week.

Serrano had a huge week for CBC, who went 5-1 on the field against Philander Smith and Ecclesia. In six games, Serrano was 6-11 with a pair of home runs, 11 RBIs and four sac flies. He hit the three-run home run in the final game against Ecclesia on Saturday that made the difference in the winning margin.

Brown ran a pair of events on Saturday at the Hendrix Alumni Open. He posted a time of 12.16 in the 100 meters and also ran a 17.32 in the 110 meter hurdles to place fourth in that event.

Swaim won another hurdling event, running a 17.40 in the 100 meter event at the Hendrix Alumni Open.

Gross-Mitchell recorded the first ever long jump mark in women's program history, recording a distance of 4.59 to place fourth.

Baseball is back on the field at Burns Park tomorrow at noon while Track & Field will compete again this weekend over at UCA.
