Albat, Rodriguez and Johnson Earn AMC Athlete of the Week Honors

            St. Louis, Mo. – For the first time this spring, three athletes have been named AMC Athletes of the Week. Josh Albat was named the baseball pitcher of the week with Julian Rodriguez earning player of the week honors and Kinley Johnson earning softball player of the week honors for the second time.

            Albat pitched a complete game on Sunday, surrendering only five hits and two runs (one) earned with a season-high 11 Ks in game one of CBC's series against UHSP.

            Rodriguez batted .333 in three games last week, one against Champion Christian and two against UHSP. He had a double, three RBIs and a run scored and hit safely in all three games.

            Johnson batted .385 over the weekend in four games in Alabama. She homered for the seventh time this season and drove in seven runs in three games against Stillman and one against the United States Sports Academy.

            The baseball team wraps up their series with UHSP today while softball hosts Nelson University in their home opening doubleheader on Thursday.
