North Little Rock, Ark. – After splitting the first two games of the series yesterday, Central Baptist College baseball was back at Burns Park today for the final two games of their series against Mission University. CBC (12-6) got the job done, taking three of four from MU (8-11) winning by scores of 11-3 and 7-2.

MU actually got on the board first in the first with a home run but CBC responded in the bottom half when Jacori Hicks was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to tie the game at one. MU would retake the lead on an error in the second before an Austin Teal two-run single in the bottom half gave CBC a 3-2 lead. Cade McBride made it 4-2 with an RBI single in the fourth before the Patriots cut the lead to 4-3 in the fifth. A solo home run by Danilo Taborda made it 5-3 in the fifth and CBC put the game away in the seventh, scoring six times on an RBI groundout by Jalen Hicks, a two-run double by Taborda, an RBI single by Ian Velazquez and a two-run single by Luke McBride. Gram Middleton was excellent in the win, allowing just three hits and three runs (two earned) in six innings while striking out nine. Julio Escobar pitched the seventh, striking out one.
