#MustangsWin! CBC Sweeps Texas A&M-Texarkana to Take Season Series From Eagles!

Maumelle, Ark. – Playing their final non-conference doubleheader of the season, Central Baptist College baseball hosted the Eagles of Texas A&M-Texarkana this afternoon at the Diamond State Baseball Complex in Maumelle. CBC (28-12) had an offensive explosion, scoring 25 runs on 18 hits to sweep TAMUT (18-22) 17-3 and 8-6.
GAME ONE – CBC 17, TAMUT 3
The Eagles got on the scoreboard first, taking a 1-0 lead in the top of the third. Austin Teal would put CBC on the board in the bottom half with a bases clearing single to make it 3-1 CBC after three. A Cameron Harden double and a Jacori Hicks single in the fifth made it 5-1 CBC before the offense exploded for 12 runs in the sixth inning. Ryan Dauphinee made it 6-1 with a double which was followed by a single by Cade McBride to make it 7-1. A throwing error and a wild pitch made it 9-1 before Hicks came up and cleared the bases with a triple to make it 12-1. A two-run double from Rolando Rodriguez made it 14-1 and a Cade McBride groundout made it 15-1. Luke McBride would cap the scoring with a two-run single to give CBC a 17-1 lead after six. TAMUT plated two in the seventh to finish the scoring. Cade McBride got the win, throwing three innings and allowing one run on two hits with a pair of strikeouts. Brennan Duhe pitched two innings of one hit relief with one strikeout followed by a perfect inning from Jackson Lindsey and a two hit, two run, three strikeout outing from Austin LeJeune.
GAME TWO – CBC 8, TAMUT 6
The Mustangs wasted no time getting on the board in game two, scoring on a single by Dauphinee and a sac fly by Rodriguez to make it 2-0 after one. A Luke McBride single made it 3-0 in the second before TAMUT scored their first run in the third. Jacori Hicks plated two runs with a double in the fourth, followed by an RBI single by Dauphinee to make it 6-1 after four. Following a 40-minute lightning delay, Danilo Taborda laid down a sac bunt and Ian Velazquez raced home on the throw to make it 7-1 after five. The Eagles scored twice in the sixth before Hicks' solo home run in the bottom half made it 8-3. TAMUT would score three in the seventh before the Mustangs secured the season victory over the Eagles. Dylan Parton started and earned the win, throwing three innings and allowing three hits and one run with two strikeouts. Christian Zincke struck out five in three innings of work around three hits and two runs. Jackson Lindsey got the final out for his first save of the season, retiring the only batter he faced.

CBC heads to Hannibal-LaGrange for a three-game American Midwest Conference series this weekend. Friday's doubleheader from Hannibal, Mo., is scheduled to start at noon.
