Shreveport, La. – Looking to bounce back from a season opening loss, Central Baptist College baseball was back at Pilot Field today for the final two games of their season-opening weekend against #17 Indiana-Southeast and #4 LSU-Shreveport. CBC (0-3) dropped both games, falling 10-0 to IUSE (0-1) and 14-4 to LSU-S (6-0).
GAME TWO - #17 INDIANA-SOUTHEAST 10, CBC 0 (SEVEN INNINGS)
The Grenadiers scored a run in the first, three in the third and two each in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings. CBC only mustered five hits, two for Josh Lumsden and one each for Garrett Fitts, George Astacio, and Chett McDaniel. Dylan Parton allowed five hits and four runs with three strikeouts in the loss.
GAME THREE - #4 LSU-SHREVEPORT 14, CBC 4 (EIGHT INNINGS)
The Mustangs briefly led in the final game, scoring two in the second on a triple by Aaron Prince. LSU-S would score four in the second, four in the fourth, four in the seventh and two in the eighth. CBC's other runs came in the fifth inning via a single by Ryan Dauphinee and in the seventh on a Dauphinee sac fly. Gram Middleton allowed six runs on four hits with two Ks in the defeat.
UP NEXT
CBC plays at Burns Park for the first time this season on Friday afternoon when they host the Braves of Ottawa University. First pitch for the doubleheader is scheduled for noon.
