North Little Rock, Ark. – After splitting the first two of their four game series, Central Baptist College baseball played the final two games against Ottawa University this afternoon at DeJanis Memorial Field. CBC (1-6) dropped both ends of the doubleheader, falling 5-4 in game one and 8-5 in game two to OU (7-1).

GAME THREE – OTTAWA 5, CBC 4

Josh Lumsden put the Mustangs on the board in the first inning with a two-run home run, his first of the season. Ottawa would score one in the second, one in the third, two in the fourth and one in the fifth to lead 5-2 after five. Ryan Dauphinee and Rolando Rodriguez both hit their first home runs of the season in the sixth, but CBC couldn't push any more runs across after that. Hunter Belton started and got the loss, throwing four innings and allowing four runs on five hits with five strikeouts. Ryan Meyer threw the final three innings, allowing just one run on two hits with four Ks.

GAME FOUR – OTTAWA 8, CBC 5

Ottawa jumped ahead quickly in the final game of the series, plating three in the first and one in the third to grab a 4-0 lead through three-and-a-half innings. Dauphinee would single in two in the third to cut the deficit in half, but the Braves got a run in the fourth to push the deficit to 5-2. An error off the bat of Brennan Duhe made it 5-3 in the fourth and an RBI single by Chett McDaniel in the fifth cut the deficit to 5-4. A run in the sixth and two in the seventh put CBC behind 8-4 before a fielder's choice in the seventh brought the score to its final margin. Jackson Kirkhuff started and got the loss, allowing five hits and five runs (four earned) with a walk and four strikeouts. Rhett James pitched the next two innings, allowing a hit and two runs with a walk and two Ks. Landon Hitchcock and Julio Escobar finished the game, combining to allow a run on three hits.
