Hot Springs, Ark. – Playing a game that was originally scheduled as a doubleheader for Tuesday, Central Baptist College baseball took on the Champion Christian College Tigers this afternoon in a nine-inning affair at Majestic Park. CBC (2-8) scored runs in the third, sixth, seventh and eighth innings to beat Champion (1-7) 7-3.
Garrett Fitts, Ryan Dauphinee and Chett McDaniel all had multi-hit games while Aaron Prince, Julian Rodriguez and Brayden Mayencourt all had a hit each. Ryan Meyer started and got the win, scattering nine hits and allowing three runs with a walk and five Ks. Brennan Duhe pitched two relief innings, allowing just one hit while Dominic Smith pitched a perfect eighth and Erik de Jesus walked a batter and struck out a batter in the ninth.
The Mustangs open American Midwest Conference play this weekend when they take on the UHSP Eutectics. Friday's doubleheader at Burns Park is scheduled for noon.
