Hot Springs, Ark. – Opening American Midwest Conference play two days after the originally scheduled date, Central Baptist College baseball hosted the UHSP Eutectics at Majestic Park in a doubleheader tonight. CBC (4-8, 2-0 AMC) took both ends of the doubleheader by scores of 3-2 and 6-2 over UHSP (3-6, 0-2 AMC).
GAME ONE – CBC 3, UHSP 2
The Eutectics struck first in game one, scoring a run in the top of the third to lead 1-0. CBC took the lead in the fourth on a wild pitch and a sac fly off the bat of Josh Lumsden to make it 2-1. Julian Rodriguez provided an insurance run in the sixth with a single to make it 3-1 before UHSP made it 3-2 in the seventh. Josh Albat was dominant, throwing a complete game and allowing five hits and two runs (one earned) with a season-high 11 Ks and only two walks.
GAME TWO – CBC 6, UHSP 2
The Mustangs scored first in the second game on an RBI single by Garrett Fitts to make it 1-0. CBC added three more in the fourth on an RBI single by George Astacio and a two-run single by Brayden Mayencourt to make it 4-0 after four. UHSP would add two in the sixth to cut the lead in half before CBC doubled their lead in the bottom half with a sac fly by Aaron Prince and a wild pitch. Gram Middleton got the win, allowing two runs (one earned) on one hit with 10 Ks in six innings while Jackson Pope struck out one and allowed a hit in the seventh.

CBC and UHSP wrap up their series at Majestic Park tomorrow with the final two games. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
