CBC Swept By #23 MBU

            Little Rock, Ark. – Opening an American Midwest Conference home series on a Monday for the first time this season, Central Baptist College baseball hosted the #23 Spartans of Missouri Baptist this afternoon at the Pulaski Academy Baseball Complex. CBC (21-18, 17-9 AMC) lost both ends to MBU (26-9, 21-5 AMC) 3-2 and 19-3.

GAME ONE - #23 MBU 3, CBC 2

            Jaxon Kirkhuff opened the scoring with a solo home run in the third, his third of the season, to make it 1-0. MBU would take a 2-1 lead in the top of the fourth before Cameron Harden tied the game with a single in the bottom half. MBU put CBC down 3-2 in the fifth but the Mustangs couldn't take advantage of a one-out double in the seventh.

GAME TWO - #23 MBU 19, CBC 3

            The Spartans scored in every inning of the second game. Trailing 5-0 in the third, Kirkhuff launched his second home run of the day and fourth of the season to make it 5-1. Two more runs would come home in the fourth inning on singles by Aaron Prince and Garrett Fitts to make the score 8-3 at the time.

            The Mustangs and Spartans wrap up their series tomorrow at Pulaski Academy's baseball complex again. First pitch is scheduled for 10 a.m.
