#MustangsWin! #17 CBC Bounces Back With Dominant Win Over UHSP!

            St. Louis, Mo. – Coming off their first American Midwest Conference loss on Thursday night, #17 Central Baptist College men's basketball looked to bounce back this afternoon with an AMC tilt against the Eutectics of the University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis at UHSP Gym. CBC (16-4, 10-1 AMC) took care of business, leading 59-29 at halftime before cruising to a 106-68 win over UHSP (6-14, 0-11 AMC).

            All 12 Mustangs that played scored, led by the trio of Gabe Johnson, Jonas Carlisle and Daquarius Harris, who all had 13 each while Wade Williams also finished in double figures with 11. The Mustangs dominated in every facet of the game, outrebounding the Eutectics 54-25, outscoring them 32-6 on second chance points and 58-36 in the paint. CBC scored the first seven points of the game inside a minute and a half and never looked back, racing out to the 30 point halftime lead and never letting UHSP get closer than 27 in the second half.

MUSTANG NOTES

  • 16-4 ties the best 20 game start in program history with last season
  • Head coach Sam Kohnke won his 80th game at CBC, tying him with Josh Austin for the most wins in program history
  • CBC reached the century mark in scoring for the third time this season and for the second time against UHSP all-time
  • The Mustangs made 44 field goals which is tied for the fourth most in a single game
  • CBC grabbed 53 rebounds, their second-best rebounding game this season
  • The Mustangs are now 22-1 all-time against the Eutectics
  • CBC improves to 15-2 when leading at the half this season

            The Mustangs step out of conference play for the final time this season when they face Philander Smith on Tuesday night. Tipoff from Mims Gymnasium in Little Rock is slated for 7 p.m.
