Erik Holth, CBC Sports Information Director

Conway, Ark. – Playing inside A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse for the first time since Jan. 11, #20 Central Baptist College men's basketball hosted the Spartans of Missouri Baptist on homecoming this afternoon. #20 CBC (18-4, 11-1 AMC) overcame an 11-point halftime deficit and scored 52 second half points to down MBU (9-13, 6-6 AMC) 82-74.

Wade Williams led the way scoring for CBC with 18 points, all of which came in the second half. Jonas Carlisle chipped in 14 points and earned another double-double with 11 rebounds while Sage Borbon added 13 and Gabe Johnson had 10. CBC doubled up MBU from deep hitting 12 three pointers while forcing 18 Spartan turnovers.

GAME FLOW

CBC trailed the entire first half by as many as 15 with 4 minutes left before taking a 41-30 deficit into the locker room at the break. CBC wasted no time starting to comeback in the second half, opening on a 14-4 run to cut the deficit to 45-44 with 16:08 to go. MBU countered, however, putting together an 11-0 run over the next 3:47 to put CBC back down 56-45 with 12:25 to play. CBC began to chip away from there, finally tying the game at 63 courtesy of a three by Williams with 6:04 to go. MBU followed with an 8-2 run and put CBC down 71-65 with 3:21 to go. CBC would close the game strong from there, outscoring MBU 17-3 over the final 3:21, taking the lead on an old fashioned three-point play by Devin Foster with 1:06 to go and making five of their final six free throws to seal the deal.
