Conway, Ark. – After playing at a neutral site on Thursday night, #20 Central Baptist College men's basketball hosted the Hornets of Harris-Stowe State University this afternoon in an American Midwest Conference clash on Youth Group Day inside A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse. CBC (20-4, 13-1 AMC) never trailed, leading by as many as 29 before winning 78-55 over HSSU (6-16, 3-11 AMC).
Brian Alexander led the way with 20 points off the bench and he was joined in double figures scoring by Sage Borbon and Savaughn Smith, who both had 11 apiece while Jonas Carlisle chipped in with 10. The Mustangs outrebounded the Hornets 49-43 and held them to 32 percent shooting from the field and 2-20 from three.
MUSTANG NOTES
- CBC is 16-8 all-time against the Hornets and have won the last six meetings
- The Mustangs improve to 18-2 when leading at halftime and 10-2 at Reddin Fieldhouse this season
- CBC forced 12 turnovers and outscored HSSU 42-14 in bench points
