North Little Rock, Ark. – Playing at home for the first time in over two weeks, Central Baptist College men's soccer hosted the Tigers of Champion Christian College tonight at the Burns Park Soccer Complex. The first ever meeting between the two programs went the way of the Mustangs (3-5) who put three in the net in the first half and followed up with two in the second half to blow out CCC (1-5) 5-0.

Hayes Lawrence had a goal and two assists in the contest, while Billy Murray chipped in with a goal and an assist as well. CBC also got a penalty kick goal from Joe McElhinney and a goal from Alexander Bertilsson as well as a debut goal from Brycen Clause. Edvin Yttergren and the Mustang defense had a clean sheet in Yttergren's first start in net.

GAME FLOW

Murray started the scoring with his fourth goal of the season in seventh minute when he received a beautiful cross from Lawrence to put the Mustangs ahead early. In the 13th minute, Lawrence drew a penalty in the box from Champion and McElhinney converted from the spot for his second goal this season to extend the lead. Bertilsson's goal in the 22nd minute was the first of his career and sent the Mustangs to the break ahead 3-0.

In the second half, everything was quiet until Lawrence blasted a brilliant laser past the goalkeeper for his second goal of the season in the 71st minute and Clause scored his goal in the 89th minute on an assist from Murray to cap the scoring.
