
Track Competes At Hendrix Alumni Open

Conway, Ark. – Competing outdoors for the first time this season, Central Baptist College track & field were at Young-Wise Memorial Stadium today for the Hendrix Alumni Open. CBC had five athletes, Ally Swaim, Ashleigh Gross-Mitchell, Josh Brown, Jadon Price, and Isaiah Stiger.
Swaim and Brown both ran the hurdles and Brown also competed in the 100-meter dash while Gross-Mitchell, Price and Stiger all competed in the long jump and Price also competed in shot put. Swaim won the 100-meter hurdles with her time of 17:40 while Brown placed 16th in the 100-meter dash but also recorded the fourth fastest time ever in the 100 hurdles at 17.39. Gross-Mitchell became the first women ever to compete in the long jump, recording a jump of 4.59 meters (15 feet, 0.75 inches). Stiger recorded a jump of 5.73 meters, the sixth longest mark ever and Price jumped 5.17 meters. Price also notched a 10.89 mark in the shot put, the fifth longest of all-time.
CBC is back on track at UCA next weekend for the Richard Martin, Jr., Invitational.
