Alexandria, La. – Looking to bounce back from a tough first day at the Generals Showdown, Central Baptist College softball was back at Champions Park today for the second day of the Generals Showdown. CBC (2-6) dropped a pair of one run contests, falling 3-2 to Louisiana Christian (6-1) and 6-5 to the United States Sports Academy.

GAME THREE – LCU 3, CBC 2 (EIGHT INNINGS)

Louisiana Christian jumped on the board in the first to lead 1-0 and it stayed that way until the fifth. Taviah Bradley drove in CBC's first run in the top of the fifth with an infield single to tie the game at one. After seven innings with the score still tied, the teams headed to extras, where LCU plated two runs to lead 3-1. In the bottom of the eighth, Kori Truelove doubled home a run to make it 3-2, but CBC couldn't capitalize with two outs. Alex Jeter threw a complete game and allowed seven hits and three runs (one earned) with a pair of strikeouts.

GAME FOUR – US SPORTS ACADEMY 6, CBC 5

USSA jumped on CBC starter Melanie Phillips for five runs in the first inning and CBC trailed 5-0 after one. The Mustangs didn't crack the scoreboard until the fifth, when Kinley Johnson singled in a run to make it 5-1. CBC made it interesting in the seventh, plating four runs to tie the score at five. Truelove made it 5-2 with a double and Abi West scored her with a single of her own. Casi Saunders then tied the game with a single, but reliever Kayla O'Kelley, who pitched brilliantly, allowed the walkoff hit to end the game. O'Kelley threw six innings and allowed 10 hits and one run with three walks and three Ks.
