Mustangs Drop Two At Gulf Coast Invitational

            Gulf Shores, Ala. – Playing in their final tournament before conference play, Central Baptist College softball was at the Gulf Coast Invitational this morning for games against Tennessee-Southern and Mobile. CBC (7-15) dropped both games today, falling to UTS 4-3 in eight innings before being shutout by #22 Mobile 5-0.

GAME ONE – TENNESSEE-SOUTHERN 4, CBC 3 (EIGHT INNINGS)

            CBC jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the second thanks to an RBI single by Taylyn Shuffield. The Mustangs would increase their lead to 3-0 in the third on a double by Kori Truelove and a single by Kinley Johnson. UTS would tie the game in the fifth and then walk off in the eighth with the bases loaded.

GAME TWO - #22 MOBILE 5, CBC 0

            Mobile scored once in the second, three times in the fourth and once in the seventh for all of their runs. CBC's lone base runner came when Anna Marie Sternisha walked to leadoff the third inning.

UP NEXT

            CBC wraps up their trip to Gulf Shores tomorrow with games against Point and Brenau. The Point game is first with first pitch scheduled for 9 a.m.
