Mustangs Split Regular Season Finale With Lady Lions

            Conway, Ark. – Playing for the final time during the regular season today, Central Baptist College softball hosted the Freed-Hardeman Lady Lions in a doubleheader at City of Colleges Park. CBC (27-23) split the doubleheader with FHU (19-14) taking game one 3-1 before falling 8-2 in game two.

GAME ONE – CBC 3, FHU 1

            Freed-Hardeman scored their only run in the first inning. A Taylyn Shuffield blooper down the right field line tied the game in the second and the score stayed 1-1 until the fifth. In that inning, Taviah Bradley brought in a run with a single through the left side to make it 2-1 and Kori Truelove followed with a double later in the inning to bring the score to its final margin. Alex Jeter was brilliant in win number 13, allowing four hits and one unearned run with four strikeouts in a complete game on just 79 pitches.

GAME TWO – FHU 8, CBC 2

            FHU tallied single runs in the first two innings to take a 2-0 lead. CBC would tie the score in the second which pretty a 22-minute rain delay before resuming. In the third, FHU scored five times and tallied their final run in the fifth.

UP NEXT

            CBC will be the host and the #5 seed in next week's American Midwest Conference Championship at City of Colleges Park.
