Bio

Keith Hinson begins his fourth season at the helm of the CBC Mustangs in 2025. He was hired to take over on August 1, 2021.

The 2024 season saw CBC finish 32-22 overall and 14-4 in the AMC, earning the #2 seed in the AMC Tournament and earning a trip to the semifinals for a second straight season. Eight Players earned AMC All-Conference recognition, including Lauren Anderson and Jordyn Frederic on the first team, Madeline Bruce, Alex Jeter, Kinley Johnson and Abi West on the second team and Kori Truelove and Hannah Work both on the third team, with Anderson and West also earning Gold Gloves. West and Work also earned spots on the AMC All-Tournament team. 29 players earned spots on the All-Academic team with 11 garnering NAIA Daktronics Scholar Athlete nods and Anderson and West both earning Academic All-America selections from College Sports Communicators.

In 2023 the Mustangs finished 34-18 overall and 16-4 in the AMC, earning the #3 seed in the conference tournament, making an appearance in the semifinals. Six players earned all-conference selections, including Freshman of the Year Kori Truelove, while Averie Ayers and Lauren Anderson both earned AMC All-Tournament Team spots. 26 Mustangs were selected to the AMC All-Academic Team, headlined by Katie Smith, who earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Second Team honors. Five players earned CSC Academic All-District selection and eight players earned selection to the NAIA Daktronics Scholar Athlete Team.

The 2022 season saw CBC go 25-20 and earn the #3 seed in the American Midwest Conference tournament. During the tournament, CBC's lone win was a no-hitter against Williams Baptist that helped the Mustangs stave off elimination. Hinson coached five all-conference selections, including Averie Ayers, Savannah Sanford and Katie Smith who all earned first-team honors while Lauren Anderson and Kirstie Blackwood earned second-team selections. Additionally, Sanford earned recognition as a finalist for the Schutt Sports NFCA NAIA Freshman of the Year and earned NFCA first-team All-Region honors. 23 Mustangs also earned recognition to the AMC's Academic All-Conference team.

            Hinson comes to Conway after spending the last seven seasons as the head coach of Arkansas State's club softball team. In those seven seasons, Hinson led the Red Wolves to the 2017 National Club Softball Association Championship and his teams were never ranked lower than eighth in the season-ending poll. ASU also won the Mid-America East Conference all seven seasons and won the Mid-Atlantic region six times. Hinson also coached eight first-team All-Americans during his tenure.

            Additionally, Hinson also has coached the baseball Arkansas All-Star showcase twice. He lives in Vilonia with his wife Penny and son Denver while the couple's daughter got married in July 2021.
