Walnut Ridge, Ark. – Making up a contest that was originally scheduled for Jan. 9, Central Baptist College women's basketball was at the Southerland-Mabee Center tonight for an American Midwest Conference rivalry game against the Eagles of Williams Baptist University. CBC (7-6, 5-4 AMC) was close after one quarter, but were outscored 33-8 in the second quarter, ultimately falling to WBU (12-3, 8-1 AMC) 98-59.
Rhys Anderson led the Lady Mustangs in scoring with 15 off the bench while Aliya Grotjohn and Tamara Christmas both chipped in with 10 each. Raigan Head led the way in rebounds with 13. The game was ultimately decided by points off turnovers, second chance points and points in the paint, all which went in favor of the Eagles.
CBC heads to Columbia, Mo., for their next two games, beginning on Thursday night with a visit to Columbia College. Tipoff against the Cougars at the Arena at Southwell Complex is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
