Fulton, Mo. – Looking to snap a three-game losing skid, Central Baptist College women's basketball played the fourth of five consecutive American Midwest Conference road games tonight at Anderson Arena against the William Woods University Owls. CBC (8-8, 6-6 AMC) trailed after the first three quarters, but found a way to win in double overtime, downing WWU (7-9, 5-5 AMC) 76-69.

Three players finished in double figures scoring for CBC, led by Raigan Head and Riley Whittington, who also played all 50 minutes. The game was evenly matched and featured seven ties and three lead changes, with neither team leading by more than 10.

GAME FLOW

CBC had a seven-point lead early, but WWU led 17-12 after one, 32-29 at halftime, and 46-44 after three quarters. In the fourth quarter, WWU opened on a 4-0 run to lead 50-44 with 7:53 to play. A three by Lydia York made it 50-47 before WWU went on a 5-0 to put them up eight with 5:15 to go. From there, the Lady Mustangs started to chip away, making it 55-57 with 1:30 left. The Owls would split free throws on the ensuing possession before Whittington tied the game with a three with 11 seconds remaining to send the game into overtime, the second overtime contest for CBC this season.

In the first overtime, scoring was at a premium. CBC trailed 60-58 after free throws with 3:57 to go and fell behind 61-58 with 3:25 left. A three from Head with 3:03 to go tied the game at 61 and it remained that way until WWU retook the lead with 47 seconds to go at 63-61. Rhys Anderson would split free throws to put the Lady Mustangs down 63-62 with 26 seconds left and WWU stretched the lead to 65-62 with 16 seconds left again at the free throw line. A three by Head tied the score at 65 with eight seconds to go and Addison Hudspeth missed a pair of free throws that would have won the game to send it to a second overtime. In the second overtime, Whittington opened the scoring with a three 22 seconds in and CBC was able to hang on from there, outscoring the Owls 11-4 in the second OT to secure the win.
