Mustangs Swept Twice On Final Day of C of O Tournament

            Point Lookout, Mo. – After splitting on the first day of the College of the Ozarks tournament, Central Baptist College volleyball was back on the court at Keeter Gymnasium again today for two more matches against the Eagles of Oklahoma Wesleyan and the hosts, the Bobcats. CBC (1-3) got swept twice, losing to Oklahoma Wesleyan (14-2) by scores of 20-25, 8-25 & 10-25 before falling to C of O (5-5) by scores of 18-25, 22-25 & 14-25.

            Caitlyn Miller and Madeline Freeman were the kills leaders in the matches, with Miller pacing the team against OKWU and Freeman against C of O. Freeman also led the team in both matches in assists and Mikayla Lawrence was either the leader or co-leader in digs in both matches.

MATCH THREE – OKLAHOMA WESLEYAN 3, CBC 0

            Miller led the way with 10 kills and Freeman posted 13 assists with a co-team leading six digs (Lawrence also had six) in the sweep. CBC had 21 kills and four total blocks in the match while OKWU had 35 kills, hit .375 and had eight total blocks.

MATCH FOUR – COLLEGE OF THE OZARKS 3, CBC 0

            Freeman had eight kills to lead the way and also had a team high 10 assists while Lawrence led with 16 digs and Mallory Gossett tracked down a career-high 14 digs. CBC had 25 kills and six aces while C of O had 34 kills and hit .208.

UP NEXT

            CBC will step onto the court at Reddin Fieldhouse for the first time this season on Tuesday when they host a tri-match against Oklahoma Wesleyan and Philander Smith. First serve for the OKWU match is at 2 p.m. and the PSC match is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
