Volleyball Fights Hard Against Stephens

            Conway, Ark. – Returning home for the first time in 27 days, Central Baptist College volleyball hosted the Stars of Stephens College tonight in an American Midwest Conference match inside A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse. CBC (4-15, 1-6 AMC) won the first set, but couldn't win another, falling in four to Stephens (15-11, 4-3 AMC) by scores of 25-16, 18-25, 19-25, and 11-25.

            Kenzie Hanks paced the Mustangs in kills with 13 while Mikayla Lawrence posted a career-high 11. Molly Murphy led in assists with 35 and also posted 10 digs for her fifth double-double of the season. Kylah Shumate led the way in digs with 13 while Kailee Walker added 12 and Mallory Gossett and Sheridan Rogers both posted 11. The key stat was hitting percentage as CBC had 39 kills and an .073 hitting percentage while SC had 49 kills and hit .211.

            Next up for the Mustangs is their season finale at Reddin Fieldhouse tomorrow against #14 Columbia, the AMC leaders. First serve is scheduled for noon.
