Blue Mountain, Miss. – Opening the 2024 season on the road, Central Baptist College volleyball took on the Toppers of Blue Mountain Christian tonight. CBC (0-1) started strong, but were ultimately swept by BMCU (6-2) 3-0 by scores of 13-25, 10-25 and 14-25.
CBC had 15 kills, led by four each from Xiangelisse Velazquez and Aubree Ruggles, 14 assists, led by six from Madeline Freeman and 39 digs, with 12 coming from Freeman and 10 coming from Kailee Walker. CBC had a pair of blocks as well in the match, with Faith Stone contributing one solo and one assisted block with Lily Brister on the assisted block as well.
CBC is back on the road in one week when they head to Monticello for an exhibition against the Cotton Blossoms of Arkansas-Monticello.
