Mustangs Drop Heartbreaker to Panthers

            Little Rock, Ark. – Playing on the road for the second time this season, Central Baptist College volleyball was at Mims Gymnasium tonight for a rivalry tilt against the Philander Smith University Panthers. CBC (0-4) won the second and fourth sets 25-22 and 26-24, respectively, but dropped sets one, three and five to fall 3-2 to PSU (6-2).

            Aubree Ruggles led the way in kills with 11 while hitting .286 on the night. Brooke Schmitz led with a season-high 23 assists and Lakyn Johnson had a team-high 14 digs. Schmitz was also in double figures in digs with 12 for her second double-double of the season while Madeline Freeman chipped in with 11 assists and 12 digs of her own for her first double-double. CBC had 46 kills and hit .110 but made eight service errors and allowed 15 aces to the Panthers, who had 54 kills and hit .154.

            Next up for CBC is a visit from Harding University on Tuesday night for the first meeting ever between the Mustangs and Bisons. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
