Mustangs Drop Five-Set Thriller To Eagles

            Walnut Ridge, Ark. – Playing their final American Midwest Conference road match of the season tonight, Central Baptist College volleyball was at the Southerland Mabee Central for a matchup with the Williams Baptist University Eagles. CBC (6-10, 4-4 AMC) won sets two and four but fell to WBU (6-17, 2-5 AMC) 3-2 by scores of 23-25, 25-22, 19-25, 26-24, and 11-15.

            Madeline Freeman had another triple double, finishing with a team-leading 11 kills to go with 16 assists, also a team-high, and 13 digs. Faith Stone also reach double figures in kills with 10 while Brooke Schmitz pitched in with 10 assists and Kailee Walker finished with 27 digs to go with 10 from Sheridan Rogers. WBU was able to score 73 points in the match thanks to 54 kills, nine aces and 10 blocks compared to just 54 points for the Mustangs on 43 kills, six aces and eight blocks.

            The Mustangs play their final road and non-conference match of the season on Tuesday when they head to Batesville to take on Lyon. First serve from Becknell Gymnasium is scheduled for 7 p.m.
