#MustangsWin! CBC Dispatches Patriots On Historic Night At Reddin!

            Conway, Ark. – Beginning their final three match stretch of the season at home, Central Baptist College volleyball hosted the Patriots of Mission University tonight at A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse in the first meeting between the two schools as American Midwest Conference rivals. CBC (7-11, 5-4 AMC) won sets one, three and four to beat MU (13-19, 6-3 AMC) by scores of 25-21, 21-25, 25-19 and 27-25 to set a new program record for conference wins in a season!

            "I was super happy with the way we played," said Madeline Freeman, who had another triple-double with 12 kills, 22 assists and 13 digs in the match. "We been preparing all week for this and everyone has been working hard in practice and that really showed tonight."

            "I've been waiting three matches to come back," said Aubree Ruggles, who had a team-high 16 kills and hit .406. "To come away with the win feels amazing."

            Brooke Schmitz joined Freeman in double figures with 18 assists while Kailee Walker and Sheridan Rogers both posted double figures in digs as well, with Walker leading the team with 23 and Rogers recording 11. CBC also had a great night blocking the ball, combining for nine total blocks, including five from Ruggles and four from Faith Stone, who became the 11th player in program history to reach 100 in her career. The Mustangs had 55 kills and hit .199 as well.

MUSTANG NOTES

  • CBC is now 9-6 all-time against Mission and have won the last seven matches in a row dating back to 2008
  • Freeman's triple-double was her third in a row
  • Stone now has 101 blocks for her career, one behind Tiffany Ward for 10th on the all-time list
  • Freeman also is now just nine kills shy of becoming just the fourth player in program history with 600 kills
  • CBC is 3-2 in four-set matches this season

            CBC has eight days off before they return to Reddin Fieldhouse on Nov. 8 against the Columbia Cougars. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.
