Lady Mustangs Fall To Comets

Lady Mustangs Fall To Comets

Erik Holth, CBC Sports Information Director

Conway, Ark. – Playing at A.R. Reddin Fieldhouse for the first time since Jan. 11, Central Baptist College women's basketball hosted the Comets of Cottey College tonight in an American Midwest Conference game. CBC (8-10, 6-8 AMC) played shorthanded because of the flu, trailing by 10 at halftime before falling to CC (14-6, 10-4 AMC), 80-58.

Raigan Head led the way for CBC with 26 points including a single-game record tying 12-12 at the free throw line. The 12 makes tie a record that has been achieved three times previously, most recently by Aminata Seck against Harris-Stowe State in Jan. 2022. Molly Smith was the only other Lady Mustang in double figures with 10 points.

The Lady Mustangs are back home on Saturday for the Homecoming game against Missouri Baptist. Tipoff is slated for 1 p.m. with the crowning of the homecoming queen to follow.
